Call for applications: ICT Skills Programme

Are you interested in learning or improving your ICT skills?

CapaCiTi, CiTi’s digital career accelerator, in partnership with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) is now recruiting for its new ICT Skills Programme. The programme, launching on 02 March 2020, aims to equip graduates with the necessary ICT skills to navigate a digital career.

As part of the programme, candidates will be streamed into one of three options based on their interest and aptitude.

Java stream
The Java programming offering aims to develop the candidate’s basic data analysis understanding and incorporates aspects of SQL. At the end of the six month’s training candidates will be provided with mock assessment like the Java Foundations test they will complete at the end of their internship period.

Python stream
The Python stream focuses on back end web development competencies and integration. At the end of the six month’s training candidates will be provided with mock assessment like the Introduction to Programming with Python test they will complete at the end of their internship period.

Software Development (JavaScript & Frameworks) stream
Candidates move from the basics understanding of front-end web development to programming logic and deeper skills including JavaScript and industry-relevant frameworks. At the end of the six month’s training candidates will be provided with mock assessment like programming in HTML with JavaScript and CSS test, they will complete at the end of their internship period.

Internship
The best performing 100 candidates will then move from this training intervention into an internship opportunity with Younglings Voluntary Association, a Non-Profit Organisation dedicated to creating an environment for young people who aspire to become Software Developers and are passionate about the craft.
