VeloCiTi’s flagship Top Tech Tools for Women in Business programme empowers female business owners to infuse technology into their businesses in a supportive and creative environment. Theodorah Mnguni, CEO and Founder of Nguni Industries (Pty) Ltd is a recent participant in the programme. Theodorah was part of the UK South Africa Tech Hub cohort, a partnership between CiTi, VeloCiTi and funded by UK South Africa Tech Hub, a UK Government initative, to grow and improve female entrepreneurs and their businesses.
Nguni Industries (Pty) Ltd, is a one stop global supply and service provider that offers office furniture, IT Hardware, Office Supplies and Corporate Clothing. “The Women in Business Programme has provided me with the relevant opportunities and skills to be able to walk this entrepreneurship journey with confidence and direction around like-minded women and supportive teachers” states Theodorah.
Theodorah manages the African Entrepreneurs Networking Group on WhatsApp and Facebook, which is a business network for SME’s in Africa. This group is how she learnt about the WIB programme when someone shared their experience in the group and this enticed her to also apply. She states that the most challenging aspect of being a business owner, has been raising funding in order to expand her business but she is excited to grow her business through her new knowledge about Cyber Security, Digital Marketing and Finance.
Participants in VeloCiTi’s Women In Business programme benefit from access to comprehensive information and experience shared by highly skilled facilitators and mentors. The programme provides a forum for entrepreneurs to introduce efficient systems and processes through the implementation of technology products and services that promote growth, sustainability and the opportunity to scale-up.
The programme is implemented through a series of facilitated interactive sessions. These sessions are designed to clarify, test and apply business learnings whilst maximizing peer-to-peer knowledge sharing practices.
