Call for applications: Join the next BioCiTi cohort!

Do you have a concept, product or service that needs assistance to get to the market? Is your idea or business responding to the Bioeconomy sector? Then BioCiTi is the technology and business incubator to help transition these ideas to commercial realities.

BioCiTi, established by CiTi in 2019, is a specialised biotech incubator that provides African entrepreneurs with a platform where science, business and investment can come together.

At BioCiTi, we help produce industries of the future in South Africa by creating a bridge between research and commercialisation of ideas based on the application of technology to broad biological sciences.

BioCiTi is accepting applications from start-ups and SMME’s for its next cohort. The programme will kick off in 2022 with tailored interventions and virtual bootcamps. BioCiTi will provide selected businesses with bespoke business, financial and technical mentorship and provide access to the BioCiTi ecosystem and networks. BioCiTi’s shared laboratory with world-class equipment and co-working space is available on a rental basis to interested businesses.

Since inception, BioCiTi has supported businesses in its incubation program that have collectively realised revenue growth from R1.5 million to over R20 million. So join us and let us grow your revenue.

Biotechnology includes industrial biotech, agritech, health, biological waste valorisation, bioenergy, pharma and others. All sectors are encouraged to apply!

The first five applicants will get a free hour session with a business coach irrespective of whether the business is selected for the programme.

Furthermore, there will be a draw where we will give one business free access to our labs and co-working space for a month! Make sure you get your applications in!
