Community Event: Intellectual Property information session 1

Join us for the Intellectual Property information session hosted by Cape Innovation and Technology Initiative (CiTi) and BioCiTi Labs at the Woodstock Bandwidth Barn.

The session will be pitched to assist entrepreneurs to understand the IP implications in the businesses and how to navigate this vast and difficult field. The speakers will be Von Seidels and Mr Fanie Marias.

Von Seidels is an intellectual property law firm specialising in patents, trademarks, copyright, designs, trade secrets, licensing, and related areas of IP throughout Africa. Based in Cape Town, South Africa, Von Seidels also has regional offices in ARIPO (Namibia), OAPI (Cameroon) and Nigeria.

Mr Fanie Marias is a science and business professional with over 25 years of IP management experience. He is the founder and director of 5 companies MarvionApplied Protein BiotechnologiesMazangani Solutions NPCInnovon Technologies (Pty) Ltd and Syngenica Genomics. He has an extensive track record in assisting science organisations transition scientific concepts to commercial realities through appropriate IP advice and protection strategies.

These esteemed speakers have partnered with BioCiTi to present an info session to inform and advise entrepreneurs on Intellectual property as well as the protection tools available.
