Hire one of CapaCiTi’s MS App Factory skilled and trained interns!

CapaCiTi, the Digital Career Accelerator, launched the Microsoft App Factory on the 1st of June 2021. CapaCiTi, our Digital Skills Accelerator, has a vision which is to enable inclusive growth of the digital economy by ensuring a supply pipeline of future-fit, skilled employees with relevant digital skills matched to industry demand.

This is done through innovative training and experiential learning programmes that focus on both technical and professional development. We bring together expertise, technology and resources from industry, academia, government, and impact funders to develop young South African talent with in-demand skills, giving them a foundation for successful and fulfilling careers.

The establishment of the App Factory allows us to change the lives of South African youths through providing meaningful digital and workplace skills in an all-inclusive, non-biased, gender and race diverse incubation hub.

We are currently hosting 11 interns who have broad skill sets from different technology backgrounds including Python, Java, HTML & CSS. The App Factory has mutually established a clear purpose – to skill themselves with the best industry-leading technology, become the next best innovators and harness the astonishing drive and passion that exists in our CapaCiTi graduates.

The team leader, explains that a typical day in the MS App Factory team includes managing administrative tasks to set the team up for success, handling project management and architecture to ensure that the interns are agile and getting all team members productive for their project-related work. This involves extensive teamwork to ensure that the interns deliver well written, maintainable, secure and efficient code, and continue to learn from the experience. Further stating that, “We also follow lean precise agile scrum principles which we encourage our interns to take ownership of. This helps with accountability. We follow two weeks sprints.”

We invite you to partner with us by committing entry-level employment opportunities for our talented MS App Factory interns to gain industry experience.
