A Standing Ovation for Graduates
UVU Bio’s Graduation Day was a celebration of commitment, curiosity, and transformation. Industry experts from organisations like the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP) and Fine Chemical Corporation offered powerful words of encouragement, reminding graduates that they are now part of a growing network shaping Africa’s biotech landscape. The graduates also shared heartfelt moments of their own reflections, reminiscing about overcoming adversity, gaining confidence, and finding their place in a demanding but rewarding field.
Building Careers in Africa’s Growing Bioeconomy
The Introduction to Biotechnology and Bioprocessing Skills Programme is in partnership with GIZ South Africa, Lesotho & eSwatini. The project Vaccines for Africa: Roll-out and production in South Africa (SAVax) ensures access to vaccines for all persons living in South Africa and strengthens local vaccine manufacturing and vaccine distribution.
This programme provided matriculants and science enthusiasts with hands-on experience in vaccine development, bioprocessing, and laboratory techniques, alongside modules on communication, interview skills, and goal setting. Crucially, each graduate secured a two-month internship, ensuring practical workplace exposure.
Be Part of the Transformation
UVU Bio is committed to empowering Africa’s bioeconomy through skills development and job creation. Whether you’re an investor, or a young scientist looking for your path, UVU Bio is creating real impact; one graduate at a time.
